PLASTIC OPTICAL FIBER LIGHTING OVERVIEW
Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) used for many remote lighting applications accommodate the use of LED’s as light sources. Plastic Optical Fiber (POF) lighting has been used for consumer products, such as toys, and a number of commercial applications as visual affects and for functional purposes. For these purposes, Mitsubishi provides plastic fibers in single elements and in flexible fiber bundles. Fibers can be pre-cut and shaped to fit within a data oriented product box, as well as pre-terminated to fulfill any overall cable or fiber design.
